A single displaced tile left in place through the winter will allow water to track under adjacent tiles, saturate the underlay or sarking felt, and eventually work its way into the loft space and ceiling below. Ridge tile replacement and re-bedding is one of the most visible signs of an aging roof on Brighton’s terraced properties.
